Podcast Paul:

Just two Murph's talking hoops. The journey to June, it is upon us. That's right, folks. The Murph's are back, the playoffs are going strong and here we are, coach. We got on before the playoffs. Coach, we got excited about the Miami matchup. That's far behind us, but we're finally back. I think what we should do before we get into the current state of affairs on the Eastern conference finals and the Western conference. We got to do a quick review, because that last round I don't know about you, coach that last round, the semis in the NBA was just exciting, right, and we're going to talk a lot about the green. You're seeing it all here. We're going to get there because there's a going to talk a lot about the green. You're seeing it all here. We're going to get there Cause there's a lot to talk about there.

Podcast Paul:

Yeah, before we do that I want to go back a little bit in time to the Western conference semis, because we had our defending champs which, throughout the entire year, coach, we were saying Denver's going to the finals, we're going to match up with Denver, so that Denver Minnesota. We're going to match up with Denver, so that Denver Minnesota series wow, dude, Like how incredible was that?

Coach Murph:

Can we go back to the corner corrections real quick about that, Everything's going to be about what you said. It's going to be really good. I'm not going to go left right and I watched the last one. That was all over the place. You handled it so well, Paul. You're so patient. Coach's corners corrections we're going in the direction. I was joking my last YouTube. I was making jokes because I wanted to go against the grain. Let's just go through how much I was wrong about which is so funny, and you were too, but me mostly. What was I wrong about for the first round?

Podcast Paul:

Man, the first round, the Lakers the win. Oh right, the Lakers beating Denver. We first round the lakers the win.

Coach Murph:

oh right, the lakers.

Coach Murph:

We're going deep, we're going, yeah, we're going way back and yeah like and I was just doing that for like early play go against the grain and it was sad they only got that one, but the one they got I'm was wrong about that, going out there on a limb just for fun. And you chose the nugs and we will continue more and I, but I went to the next. We'll stay on topic with the nugs. You want the Nugs? Yeah, so it was that one game was why did they win that one game he's going to remember.

Podcast Paul:

You know, I don't even remember the Lakers winning a game, but I would say Exactly, but you need to, yes, continue.

Coach Murph:

Sorry, I'm interrupting.

Podcast Paul:

I was going to say maybe AD. You know he stepped up in that game, hey man.

Coach Murph:

Yeah, Remember he had the 23, 25, 25 points.

Coach Murph:

I believe in 23 boards, 23 boards size on size but he was working him, and the only person I've ever seen work Joker like that is AD. So I did say that's why I was like there's a if they were full and fully inflamed, like, but then that would have been that's a lot of wins. That was like you have to win the mega millions for that one. So that was a fun stupid call, but they got that one, so don't forget him. Done next up, next up we were. We were wrong about but coach's notes got eaten by the dog. They're gone right now. I don't know that's okay, I'll recover them, but like, but you, we were wrong about. The best season.

Coach Murph:

There was a few things we were wrong about that, so I like to do the corrections. What the best season was in the oa celtics? Second best? This was the best this year. Oh no, this was fifth. I'm sorry, like we'll go into the past we'll get to the celtics in a second yeah, yeah. So else do we want to talk about? We?

Podcast Paul:

weren't wrong about Minnesota, though. That's the whole point.

Coach Murph:

You weren't, so I'm going to give you ultimate credit and people can go back. We're doing the YouTube now. That's why we have all this stuff, that we're new and weird and fresh. This is our third YouTube video. We were. We we're all over the place. We're all over the world right now with all the what do you call them Platforms?

Podcast Paul:

right, it's just two Mertz talking hoops. The journey to June man.

Coach Murph:

Yeah, it was 2020 it started, so now we're new to this, bringing you this whole visual thing, so it's fun. So, anyway, what else? Oh yeah, he called Ant Banks and company in OKC to win it Not win it all, but be one and two. I was like, way before I'm pleased. I was like what? Like not? Yet not yet, but it's time. Nobody saw that coming. We were hoping it and they won, and it's good for him it was a great series Ant-Man, incredible Defending champs, go down and what's been.

Podcast Paul:

I think the reason why I was really into that series and most of the western conference is our celtics, the path that they've had to get to the eastern conference finals and we're going to talk about their current matchup. It's been a much easier path. It's been a much easier path. They haven't been tested. You know, we were getting on before the miami series, trying to give the flowers a little bit to miami because we wanted to respect them. Dude, they had nobody. Jimmy butler was out, they were thin cleveland. They had a little bit of a chance. Yeah, donovan mcnabb, donovan mcnabb he was a great quarterback.

Coach Murph:

This is just two members talking to hoops, not sports.

Podcast Paul:

We changed that donovan mitchell so he was playing great, but then he got hurt right and they cruised through that in five games. But the western conference it was a slugfest. But you know what I should have saw coming with min Minnesota? Yeah, they look great. The whole world is talking about Minnesota having the chance to win the whole thing. How great Ant-Man is, but just typical sports. They were so up to beat the defending champs that took all their energy, man, and now they're already down 0-2 to Dallas Because they have met their match in a man named Luka.

Coach Murph:

And now they're already down, oh, two to Dallas because they have met their match in a man named Luca and Luca and and Kyrie, but it's last night. I didn't watch the whole game.

Podcast Paul:

I turned it on. I turned on the Dallas Minnesota game last night. With 12 seconds to go, Minnesota is up by one point. Dude, they get the ball to Luka and I'm watching this Even before he shot it. I'm like Dallas is going to win, Luka's not going to miss his shot and, sure enough, he shoots a three-pointer right over Rudy Gorbet and boom three-pointer.

Coach Murph:

Did you see who called that before it happened? Live, no, jamal Crawford, go to YouTube. See who called that before it happened. Live, no, mall crop, go to youtube. I was going to do a whole thing, but jamal crawford called it exactly what's gonna happen. The three-pointer I'm like whoa bro.

Podcast Paul:

Jamal crawford calls a three-point winning okay that's why he's like he's gonna do this and do that, does it?

Podcast Paul:

yeah, game oh yes, we all love luke suck the wind right out of them, but you, you know what. The other thing that went through my mind, though not giving up on minnesota yet, because, even though dallas took those first two, all of a sudden I went back in time one year ago just two murphs talking hoops, the journey to june, season one. We also were 0-2 after losing the first two at home. Then we went down 0-3. And how happy, how much at peace do you feel, coach, to be talking right now, a year later, season 2, with our green not down 0-3 in the Eastern Conference Finals, but up 2-0?.

Coach Murph:

We're up 2-0. We're up 2-0.

Podcast Paul:

We're up 2-0.

Coach Murph:

My biggest weakness in life my overconfidence. You'd always say that as a kid, I love it. I'm a vampire. You're overconfident. Your overconfidence is yours. Your fear in your friends is yours. You're overconfident, you're overconfident. No, we're up 2-0. We're staying humble. We're no expectations, because we went up three, we were down three, we got to 3-3, six and then we lost in game seven. You know it's never.

Podcast Paul:

You never expect anything right, big deal, we're up 2-0. It just feels different, man. I know, like you just said. I know like you just said, I know it feels different.

Coach Murph:

We should win this, but I'm like we're winning this. I'm trying to stay humble and stay in the moment with you, but we're going to win. Yes, we're winning.

Podcast Paul:

It really is. It's the eighth year.

Coach Murph:

It's time it's called longanimity. People don't know. I was working with my girl, mia Marsh, this morning, shout out learning, and I said you know what long a minute long anemone means? And I said it's a gift, gift from the spirit. No-transcript. So everybody out here is like a great son-in-law thing. It's not long suffering, positive, and that's what we got next it just feels different though because of this team.

Podcast Paul:

This all different.

Coach Murph:

Obviously the coach show let's go back to the coach show yeah keep going, paul.

Podcast Paul:

I want to get to Coach Joe in a second. Back to your point. There you are.

Coach Murph:

There you are, see, I'm getting good with the backgrounds. I don't know how to do it. I was just learning this. Now, brother, stop, let's go.

Podcast Paul:

I want to talk about him in a second, but to your point, with the eight years which you're talking about, the J's, and you can see it right before our eyes, the growth, you know, jalen brown in particular just amazing. But for me, the reason why this is working right now and I and I and it really hurts to say this because we love marcus, we always love marcus. We had great things to say about him, but when you talk about peace, bringing it all together and the glue that makes it all flow, drew, the glue.

Coach Murph:

Oh, that's another coin Pop out the podcast Paul has the most coins.

Podcast Paul:

I want to be the first one to admit I was wrong. I don't even know if I said this on this podcast, but I'm going to say it right now let's admit our wrongs. As much as I was excited in the beginning of the year when we got on talking about Drew Holliday and how he's going to be a difference maker Again, I don't think I've said this on this podcast. This might be the first time but throughout the season podcast, Paul was a little disappointed in Drew.

Coach Murph:

I didn't really see what I wanted to see. I didn't see he was bringing it.

Podcast Paul:

I didn't see he was bringing it. I didn't like it, but here's the deal. This is a champion. This is a guy that's been in the league for years. He knew exactly what he was doing. He knew exactly what he was getting ready for. It was this moment, and now that he's in this moment, he is the glue that's bringing it all together. Man, he has just been awesome the past few games, the last two games against Cleveland and then these first two games, just lights out.

Coach Murph:

That's what I was saying. This is the old Drew, but it's not just old Drew, like you just said, it's wise Drew, man of faith, and he's a veteran and he's selfless. Hello players, you got to know how to turn on the selflessness. And then the Kobe. When I'm teaching everybody, go to kobe. First, be calm, emotionless killer, that's what he plays. A role, kids, fun, like hollywood. He gets into it and it becomes more intense. But again, calm. It's like I was like most motionless murder. Yeah, killer was a face. No, no, that's his calm.

Podcast Paul:

So emotionless killer and again, I don't. I don't want to pick on someone who we love and we miss. No, but Emotionless murder, yeah. A killer with a face, no, no, that's his calm.

Coach Murph:

So emotionless killer. And again, I don't want to pick on someone who we love and we miss. No, but what did your brother say, though? I said why are you doing that? He's been doing work all season, but behind the scenes and he's letting everybody else out there go forward. He went back. It was great to see that he was taking a step back now. Now he boom that was purposeful.

Podcast Paul:

Push that cart forward right and you just unfortunately didn't get that with marcus. You never felt. It was just the opposite. He got things done but it was very discombobulated, very jerky, herky, jerky, you know not not that selfless enough, because it's selflessness in life and sorry, marcus, I love you he's not a true point card like drew.

Coach Murph:

He had more defensive prowess than I've ever seen in on the celtic. Maybe, bro, he was the. He was a d right defensive player of the year. Yeah, like he doesn't have the mindset of a true point guard. That drew is general a floor general, yep. So give your sidekick, coach mercer, some products like why are you tripping on drew right back next?

Podcast Paul:

well, the whole and then okay, yep wrong, so let's go through our wrongs.

Coach Murph:

I want to splash out all the wrongs from what we said before. Go ahead, you go ahead and take the reign. Well, I?

Podcast Paul:

just want to go with who's behind you right now on the on the video. Yes, our, our mentor, our coach. Let's give our props to coach joe because he has learned, he has grown and there's a couple things I want to point out, with coach joe last year oh yeah, I just hold on, paul.

Coach Murph:

I was holding this up. Look, can you see what's on it from missoula? Why I think I'm drinking out of it it's just espresso from french memories and water nutrition's, everything. Talk about our joe. And then I'm going to grill some people, most because you're not living in the green nation. Now. Paul is in seattle area, I'm here and there is too much heat on our boy and you are absolutely right about nitpicking.

Podcast Paul:

They nitpick the cripe out of him well and jt they're not watching in real time, because this man last year he did not know how to do in-game adjustments, everything was kind of set in stone. He was almost like a robot. Right, not this joe, not this coach, joe, coach, joe's in game adjustments. Let's go to game two. Let's just go to the other night, cause as we get on today, folks, it is, uh, the the morning before game three, so we don't know what's going to happen there. But in game two, Luke Cornette, our guy.

Podcast Paul:

Luke right, Cause he's been doing those double big lineups and, you know, with Porzingis out we'll talk about that in a second. It's been a lot on Al Horford, but he's been spelling him with Luke. Well, guess what? Luke got hurt in the game and what did he do quickly and what did he understand for the moment? Putting in a man named O'Shea Brissett. That's your favorite, that's Paul.

Coach Murph:

Gadsby's favorite. I do things for my brother.

Podcast Paul:

You might all be listening right now going what are you talking about? Dude O'Shea Brissett, who had two points when Jalen Brown went for 40, a 40 bomb and Jason came on late and we just talked about Drew Holliday. I'll tell you why, because that whole plus minus is a real thing. When this guy came into the game, the energy shifted. He was like a plus 18 when he was on the court. He had three steals, he had a few boards, he had some offensive boards. Just a little bit of that energy that that that team needed at the time.

Podcast Paul:

And most importantly, showing everybody thank you, coach Joe that we can play against this Indiana team small we can go small ball. We do have a bench, we do have other players that can get this done, and it's just exciting to see that Coach Joe has grown, that he's feeling the pulse of his team. He knows when to make moves, he knows when to do a timeout. I'm just so proud of this man All right?

Coach Murph:

This is what I want to say, a hundred percent. I agree with him, like mostly everything you say, paul, and I'm feeling the same way, I'm, I'm still I'm I'm letting it all out.

Coach Murph:

Green nation If let with joe. He's a new coach too. Paul, how many years this is? It's his second year, man. It's second he's learning. But here's the difference if you listen, h-o-w. Honesty, openness, willingness, he's learning. Robotic, yes, but no calm, soaking everything and imagine what he had to soak in. Nobody can and he did that. He listens to his players and is willing to listen and learn, and really be present and he's growing in this.

Coach Murph:

Look what you got. The most winningest coach of all time actually is funny because it's only two years. But he's making good calls and sometimes he makes bad calls. We're like, oh, timely timeout Joe, which is podcast, follows another quote because we know his time and not calling timeouts why. He's placed the team, he's placed all. He's got everything right there, it's all. No, it's very hard managing egos. He has to manage all those egos. Praise to him. Shush up about coach being a bad coach. Another thing people are on jt's too hard. They're harping on jt too hard. Easy, we're, we're so hard. When that garden was like this in the beginning I'm a garden. Don't you know, green, that you're part of the sixth man? There's no this. I was like what are you guys doing? And it's fine. They warmed up last game until like the third quarter, but it was like expect, I expect you to do something that's right.

Podcast Paul:

Thank you for bringing that up.

Coach Murph:

Yeah, no, you don't expect that Green Nation. And if we which I feel like it's going to happen right now Dallas plays the Celtics in the finals and I see people going and yelling saying F you to Kyrie, I'm going to lose it. I'm not for the booing when Kyrie gets the ball.

Podcast Paul:

Why are we booing, kyrie, we're getting ahead of ourselves.

Coach Murph:

Hold on I know, but I'm going to tell you, I'm going to roll it back. You roll me back, roll me back. Here we go. You're not allowed to boo Kyrie. Continue, you can go stop. I'm just saying why? Why the boo?

Podcast Paul:

I'm so glad you brought this up. This is something out yet, so let's talk about it right now. Um, I did feel like you know it's changed since the eastern conference finals, because when jaylen brown had that game winning shot, or excuse me, tying three point shot in game one, the garden erupted. You're seeing some of that energy, but I did feel like earlier in the playoffs. Just like you stated, there's this expectation. It's almost like people can't enjoy the moment. But then you let you watch Denver, minnesota and you listen to the Denver crowd, you listen to the OKC crowd, you listen to these other crowds in the other stadiums. You know it's not my TV. My TV is the same volume for all these other stadiums and they're way louder. The fans are way louder, they're way more into it.

Coach Murph:

You want to go to Europe now. Have you seen the European footage?

Podcast Paul:

No, but what is up with that? Come on, boston fans, be in the moment.

Coach Murph:

Enjoy. If you haven't seen the European footage that fall, go to our logo and chill right now. You might want to check that out, because Europe basketball is better than us right now. Their fans are like soccer fans and we all know what football fans are. Like. They're and out of their minds. Other arenas are better right now. Who is? Who is the one that's popping in mind? I just forgot.

Podcast Paul:

I was just watching the game even all, all of them, oh yeah, we got it all of them right, but just in the nba, these other stadium right watch the professional basketball in europe or in australia right now.

Coach Murph:

It's insane. It's a soccer game. I'm like what, and it's so amazing they need that we don't.

Podcast Paul:

They want to earn it.

Coach Murph:

You don't earn it. Like you and the energy I'm like oh, just know that when you go to a gang guys, listen to coach murph, I've been around forever. Okay, I'm 46 soon. I'm a pioneer in sports as a. I'm a pioneer in sports. I'm a pioneer in this stuff. Stop it, you're part of the game. Go there and be positive. Don't expect things because they're not playing well. They need you, they need your positive energy. They need this when they don't need or not.

Podcast Paul:

Enjoy this moment it looks like they have a good path. It's just this whole like nerves thing, like oh my gosh, they better like no, just embrace it.

Coach Murph:

In fact, we have trauma Coach. Yeah, we have trauma.

Podcast Paul:

How much fun has the NBA journey been this year?

Coach Murph:

Yes, we made some good predictions, but did you ever think we're still going to get some others?

Podcast Paul:

Did you ever think? Did you ever think, as much as we talked about Halliburton and the Pacers and the in-season tournament, that they would make it to the Eastern Conference Finals? No, did you ever?

Coach Murph:

think the green. I was already predicting the green. We're getting Lorraine dude.

Podcast Paul:

No, but I'm talking about the Pacers, we're not talking about the green.

Coach Murph:

I'm sorry, I misheard you.

Podcast Paul:

I'm wrong, let's go about the ground.

Coach Murph:

Oh, wrong with the paces, I'm sorry. Yeah, I misheard you, I'm wrong. Let's go about the biggest wrong One of the biggest wrong. No, that was a true big wrong, because I was just joking around. I said Aren't going deep? Hard I was hard, I was like Paces aren't going deep.

Podcast Paul:

But here's the thing, though as much as we do, we've got to give them their flowers and we're playing them now. They did go up against.

Coach Murph:

Flowers, oh no, flowers for faith. You bring it back now, you real bad.

Podcast Paul:

They did go up against a depleted New York Knicks. Let's be in the moment now. Remember last round. They were down 2-0 to the Knicks. So just like we're up 2-0, righticks, so just like we're up 2-0. Right. And you probably heard coach joe after the celtics won the last game. Remember what happened to the knicks? They were up 2-0 and then they went to indiana. They lost in seven games. But here's the difference the knicks were depleted.

Coach Murph:

They lost everybody so that that was my best call and that and they were already knew they were going to lose. After OG was out, I was like OG's out, they're done, but their depletion, that's the word. Another great word for you folks Welcome, welcome, folks, come to the stadium, get a little crazy, have fun. Depletion of all the injury for injuries, depletion. What else do I talk about?

Podcast Paul:

With us being up to. Oh, it's a different thing. I said we're gonna go to the final.

Coach Murph:

Sorry, sorry to over talk the next and then sounds like call that as the ecf um. But that was wrong there. But barely, I was right about my next. But they didn't even have. Oh my goodness do a little randall, they didn't even have ran. I was like no way man yeah you're like, so I'll take that call. Thank you very much, and uh and you're wrong about uh hold on you're wrong about that big deal but you, you weren't wrong.

Coach Murph:

You're wrong. You weren't about zion, wasn't there. You're like if maybe because zion's playing, they'll be able to win, what else?

Podcast Paul:

but when we talk about that, well, I never would have, neither one of us. I mean, maybe we said some good things about Dallas. Because we love Luca, I did.

Coach Murph:

I listen. Yes, I know, go back. I watched things over. I did. I said I'm not hating on Kyrie anymore. I have nothing against him. I'm a true fan, the truest mate of green.

Podcast Paul:

I'm happy for him.

Coach Murph:

Paul Gaspar goes over true green. Yes, thank you. Continue my work.

Podcast Paul:

I'm happy for Kyrie because whatever he was going through, whatever he was going through when he was with the Celtics and then with Brooklyn, he's he's found his place. Like even last year was tough for him, cause it was new. But him and Luca, they have this chemistry and now all that baggage Cause no one ever denied his capabilities and how great of a basketball player he was. He's always been great. He's always had the moves and the handles and all of that it was more his attitude. Well, now his attitude is better and it's great and he's playing awesome and they look great. I just never thought that dallas had a chance to go to the finals and it's really. It's feeling this way. Man, I I know I don't want to get ahead of ourselves, because we're far from no.

Coach Murph:

We're gonna get out of ourselves.

Podcast Paul:

We're gonna here's the deal kairi irving again, I'm gonna say it one more time.

Coach Murph:

If you're gonna boo him, it's, it's it's Bush League to me, and it's not energy we want in the arena. Get over it. You can mess with him, but get over the F and U's. We're past all that dude, bad energy. We know that we want to win. Do it the right way. Just get over it and then you take the power back. You're giving him power. He's feeding into it. He scored 20. Luke had 32. Let's talk about Gafford. Nobody even knows who he is, center 16. Jones Jr at four and four. But this is the man who I want weeks about and we're about. We're back, by the way. We're back, baby. What's the date today? I don't even know anymore well, here we are.

Podcast Paul:

It's saturday, may 25th it's almost june by the time we get back on, it will be june. Who is the?

Coach Murph:

other player I've been hitting you up about on that team. Let's go, come on pj washington thank you great, give him a little. I didn't know he was. I didn't know, know who he was.

Podcast Paul:

I didn't even know who he was.

Coach Murph:

I'm like, who is this guy?

Podcast Paul:

As much as Dallas is looking.

Coach Murph:

Dropping numbers and being effective. So it's not just them two, right? So that's what I was wrong. I was like it can't be just them two, don.

Podcast Paul:

I still think Minnesota has a little fight left in them. I don't think that series is completely over.

Coach Murph:

A little fight left.

Podcast Paul:

Coach, I know we're going to have to get out of here soon before we get on again, but I want to leave on this note because this is what.

Coach Murph:

I want to leave everybody with right now. We can go for 10 minutes. We're going to go until 3.

Podcast Paul:

This is my last point I want to make and I want all Celtics fans out there, all NBA fans to hear this and everybody to relax, because this narrative of oh well, the Celtics are in the East and look at their path, Look how easy their path was. The East was way down. They didn't have any competition.

Coach Murph:

Here's what I'm going to say to this. Yeah, well said.

Podcast Paul:

Here's what I'm going to say to this narrative.

Coach Murph:

Another thing, Paul Nice. Here's what I'm going to say.

Podcast Paul:

You ready? Here it is, I'm ready. Yes, here it is, I'm ready. Yes, it's true, the east has been down. Yes, it's true, the celtics haven't had the competition they should and the west has way more competition. We just talked about minnesota and denver, the way they pushed each other, the way they brought the best out of each other. We're seeing it right now with dallas, minnesota, ant-man going against Kyrie, like the level of competitions at a different level. But here is why I know our green have a really good shot at this and I have faith because, yes, they're in the East, but they're by far the best in the East. They're one of the best teams in the NBA. They're one. If they were in the West, they'd be doing the same thing. So, once they get to the finals we haven't seen anything, coach they're getting to the finals and we're going to see the best of them. What you said earlier about people saying about Tatum and down on him you just wait until he gets in the finals.

Podcast Paul:

Talk more names With the Ant-Man or Luka. For all our team say more than names. So I am not nervous, I'm not, you know, scared.

Coach Murph:

Tell me more who's going to be effective on that team? Why we're so good on our team. Besides the big three and four and five Like we have a big five when Zingy come back.

Podcast Paul:

Zingy, no Zing, no ring. No Zing, no ring. That's ours, we're going to get. I don't want to see.

Coach Murph:

I coined that. No Zing, no ring.

Podcast Paul:

But why else, paul, you know I don't want to, by the way, I don't want to see him, mr Porzingis, to the finals because we don't need him.

Coach Murph:

And the reason we don't need him is I just said it, coach Joe.

Podcast Paul:

he's figured out that we can go small against Indiana. We can do O'Shea Brissett.

Coach Murph:

We can maybe throw in an X man if we need the size, but we got.

Podcast Paul:

we got the trade of destiny. Derek white. We got drew holiday. We already talked about the glue. We got the Jays that everybody wanted is waiting for their time. This is their time. Jalen Brown oh, he is feeling it right now. We got Big Al this is done.

Coach Murph:

The Celtics are going to the West Name the other small that you're forgetting. That's so good, thank him. Come on, man. He's a guard coming off the bench. A fast PP. Little Peyton Pritchard. Would everybody shut up now.

Podcast Paul:

There's only one guy that's got to step up is Sam Houser.

Coach Murph:

No, I want to stop. I'm stopping you. You can go back to our archives on Spotify, whatever platform you want, and I called that. Everybody's ah P trade him, trade him. He's going to trade him. He's gonna be an all-star one day. And I called him. I said that he's gonna be. I even went far enough to say he could be in the hall of fame. What I see and I'm being a little little egoical right now because but I know, and he and he got his, so he got his money. You know what he's doing. I just watched a video. I wanted to show it to you. I sent it to you. He's been since he got his big check. I think it was a 20 or 30 million, it was 20 or 30.

Podcast Paul:

For five years.

Coach Murph:

Yes, he's a second unit Big time player. He rose up in transitive. He ascended as well. Everybody's just ascending and growing as a player. He has his boys in Europe that are playing Pros that are really good Pay now because he's got the coin. He pays them out and he has them stay where he's at and he pays them out and he has them stay and where he's at and he has them play in. So how he does his drills, like coach loves doing his drills, and I do drills with cone. I do drills with cones, the cone drills with a player he hasn't just come in reps so. So it's like I'm doing drills but I need to know my momentum, my body and shit. So I'm paying, I'm working hard, so they better work hard. And he's hooking up his boys. He's doing different training. That's how he does his training. So if you see his handles, they're tight.

Podcast Paul:

He's been great.

Coach Murph:

He's shooting at everything. His training method is incredible and he's hooking people up so he's having, like he's calling it, sparring partners. It's incredible. So thank you, pv, for backing up my words. I always believed in you. I hope you hear this one day and go back to hear what I was saying about you in oregon before.

Podcast Paul:

But so everybody, everybody out there sam luke.

Coach Murph:

Okay, like, like paul. This is why we're gonna win and that's why oh wait, we had. We had shrek and donkey coming off the bench. Big baby, sorry, big baby, you got in trouble there. I know we break laws, things happen. We gotta forgive, even when Paul Pierce made that big whoopsie, whoopsie, whoopsie, whoopsie man, we gotta move on right. We all messed up in life. I know I certainly have, so that stinks, but little man, nate Robinson, come on, poe. I know I certainly have, so that stinks, but little man, nate Robinson, come on Poe. Leon Poe, my old school cats coming off the bench. You want to name more? Eddie House, hello.

Podcast Paul:

Yep.

Coach Murph:

Squad coach energy. Enough of that, so what else? That's it, and then a congratulations to Zach.

Podcast Paul:

I'm just excited because I know we're getting through this series. I don't want to get ahead of myself, I just feel it.

Podcast Paul:

But, just enjoy the moment, Green fans, because they call it a seven-game series for a reason. You saw the first two rounds. They did it in five games. I don't know how long this series is going to go, but they're going to get it done. They have seven games to figure it out in the Western Conference Finals. They're going to go toe-to-toe with the competition. Either way, whatever happens, I'm with you. I'm feeling real bullish on the green.

Coach Murph:

It's going to be an awesome finals, but we're being better because we learned it's going to be an awesome finals.

Podcast Paul:

Yeah, that's all I got, man.

Coach Murph:

No, I was joking, so we can sweep them maybe but like you, you, you know, but you made a great point. I'm like sweep. I texted you a sweep like a joke with an emoji. But you're like ah, moment, why do I need a sweep? Why do I need to win? Like, why do I need that? Why Go back to the moment, shut up and just and just, it doesn't matter, you don't have to win perfectly.

Podcast Paul:

Again, this is a lot different than a year ago when we were coming up, coming on the pod, when we were down 0-3. And we almost won that one. Think about that. This is a different team.

Coach Murph:

Pops of Boston, Pops of Indiana.

Podcast Paul:

Think about the experience this team has had in the past. They're going to the finals. Dude, it's happening.

Coach Murph:

Let's talk about the world one more time, because you made that call way long time ago. Cops with them in Dallas. They're there. Here's the four baby, final four baby and uh, and we got Reed. Nobody's talking about score 23, asking Conley 18.

Podcast Paul:

Yeah, but dude, he almost won the game, exactly.

Coach Murph:

Nas.

Podcast Paul:

Reed, do you see that shot?

Coach Murph:

Not just Ant-Man here. No, robert, mr Frenchman, I think he heard that he's like. I think Pierce said it Nobody's fear is a Frenchman, it was. It was a big ticket in truth, darn it. And truth Like.

Podcast Paul:

I think that you know what I.

Coach Murph:

Rudy had 16 and 10. Hold on, they're K-Town son.

Podcast Paul:

I know, but you know what, as much as I don't want to count them out, one more McDaniels.

Coach Murph:

That's it, whatever.

Podcast Paul:

As much as I don't want to count them out, I think they got their championship last round. It kind of feels that way, and the look in Luka's eye Dude. This guy's going to another level. He's already one of the best players in dude, he's losing, losing, losing, losing.

Coach Murph:

But if you listen to the great ones, it's no loss.

Podcast Paul:

We're going to go up against Kyrie man.

Coach Murph:

What do the Greeks say? It's a failure, man. It's growth and learning and it's like, wow, that's what we want. To see Kyrie back, let's go and with Luka, and that would be great, but we want to, don't want to get ahead of ourselves.

Podcast Paul:

So on that, so next time we're on what? Nba finals?

Coach Murph:

NBA finals versus Dallas, like we just called Paul. We we, you know.

Podcast Paul:

Kyrie.

Coach Murph:

Kyrie back in Boston and getting the ultimate redemption, because we didn't cover this. We got our souls cleansed. This is Paul's words. Paul has pee, cozy, pee. Oh, what else? Oh, prophetic pee. You can be prophetic if you have the spirit with you. You're the God. Now I'm going to bring up G-O-D.

Podcast Paul:

It really has been a cozy playoffs.

Coach Murph:

Who do we beat to get the monkey out of the box or cleanse the soul, like Paul said, who would we be? He? We got that past us. So let's redeem. It's all about redemption with Kyrie, and they have the best squad, they have the best second unit and let's be the best. Green fans now Green Nation, bleed green, you know. And then they go back to a little background here. Just write no background, learning all the stuff, none. What is this? Can you see my new background? What do you see? What else do you see here? And Larry Bird.

Podcast Paul:

So this is the other reason we're going to win. Larry Bird and Rick Carlisle don't want the Pacers to win. Rick Carlisle's a Celtic. He's coaching the Pacers Larry Bird and Rick Carlisle's a Celtic. He's coaching the Pacers Larry Bird and Rick Carlisle. They're Celtics. Rick Carlisle, the coach of the Pacers.

Coach Murph:

Who's Larry Bird's best friend? Rick Carlisle.

Podcast Paul:

He doesn't want his team to win, he wants his Celtics to win. Come on.

Coach Murph:

Larry, larry the legend. So let's have some good energy in there. Don't boo kairi every time he gets the ball, but if you're gonna, you're gonna try to let that go right. It's all about letting go. I wanted to say what about podcast paul was talking about be in the moment, so living one day at a time, enjoying one a time, accepting hardship as a pathway to peace, trusting in him and things will be okay If you surrender. Stay in the moment. Goodbye, coach is out.

Podcast Paul:

Peace. Everybody. Enjoy the rest of the Eastern Conference. Western Conference finals We'll be back. Nba finals baby, we're feeling it Just two more.

Coach Murph:

We're feeling it. Just two more. We're out of here. See ya, we'll be back, we'll be back.
